Djabeというのも実に活動歴の長いバンドで、彼らのホームページでみても、これがいったい何作目なのかもよくわかりませんが、本作でもバルカン半島のエスニックフレイバーを隠し味にしたジャズロックという基本路線に大きな変更はありません。今回先生は、２、６、８曲目の３曲に参加していますが、いずれもElctric Guitarによるソロを展開しています。マウロパガー二やアレアをちょっと思い起こさせるジャズロックの２曲目では、他にそれらしいパートがないので、おそらく終盤近くのソロがそうなのだと思いますが、ほんとうにそうなのか確信がもてないほど、先生としては異色のソロなのではないかと思います。ある意味こういう別の顔みたいなのがみれるのが、ゲスト参加作品の魅力ですね。Simon CollinsのU-Catastrophとならんで好きなところだなぁ、ここは。

Steve plays the electric guitar for track 2, 6 and 8.  In track 2, which reminds me of Mauro Pagani or Area, I think probably Steve is playing in the last section but it is very technical solo and exceptional as his style, so I'm not confident that it is really his solo. However it shows another aspect of Steve Hackett, and as the guest performance it is one of my most favorite passage as well as the one in Simon Collins' "U-Catastroph".
